Another couple of weeks have past and the garden has exploded. We haven’t been posting as much, mainly because we were getting married.
As you can see everything is now in full production mode.
Gardening, my third love, next to my wife and unborn child.
So I started a compost pile today. I am not really sure how well it will work but with all the yard work I might as well use the material to hopefully make some new soil to work with next year.
So I found a busted up gutter on the road. So I decided I could use it. Pulled the car over, forced it into the car. The whole time my dog was wondering what the hell was going on. Trimmed up the gutter once I got home and decided to use the gutter to plant some herbs in. I would have done the nifty hanging herb garden, but I had no end caps for the gutter, so I turned it into an in ground trough.
So everything is coming in nicely. Hopefully, by the end of June we can start harvesting some of our crops.
So I haven’t posted in awhile. Mainly because we have been busy with life events. We have had some good rain the last couple of days and the plants have surely enjoyed the moisture. They have taken off.
Gardening I think has taken over my life.
So today two pumpkins and some of my pole beans beginning to sprout. I probably should get started on the pole bean trellis so I can get ready to have them vine up the deck.
I also planted a jalapeno plant today to go with my assortment of peppers that are growing.
Couple weeks after planting the garden.
Shortly after the garden was planted I began noticing that some furry creatures were eating our vegetables. So I tried a lot of remedies to see if it would stop them.
1. Cheyenne pepper = Nope
2. Dog hair = Nope
3. Garlic= Nope
At night I even went as far as peeing around the perimeter of the garden. However, none of this seemed to have worked. I guess I should have just put the fence up the first time.
